MASSAGE THERAPY
The practice of massage therapy is the assessment, treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissues and joints by manipulation to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function or relieve pain.
Each massage therapist undergoes extensive training in health sciences, massage theory, orthopedic assessment, stretching and strengthening techniques, hydrotherapy, and nutrition.
From infant to adult, most people inherently appreciate the value of touch. The hands on nature of massage therapy allows one-on-one time between patient and therapist. This provides the opportunity for full assessment, relief of pain or discomfort, stress reduction and maintenance for optimal health and a sense of physical and emotional well being. Massage therapy is an integral addition to any alternative health care regimen and an invaluable complement to overall wellness.
